First of all let me introduce myself. My name is Heidi Lynn Douglas and I am a singer/songwriter/musician. I’d like to thank you for stopping by and letting me tell you a little bit about myself. I hope you are enjoying my website.
I grew up in a small southern Ky. town in McCreary County called Stearns. I was born on February the 21st, 1994. I guess you could say that I’m just a small town southern girl trying to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a singer.
Growing up as a child, I sung in a small country church where I often attended. I started singing around the age of 10. It took a while for me to break out of my shell, but after I did, things seemed to take right off. Ever since then, music has been my passion. As a kid, singing was something I would do every day. From karaoke, talent shows to just playing music with my family and friends, I took advantage of every musical opportunity that came along. When I reached the age of 14, I became interested in the guitar. I always loved it but I never thought about learning. I asked my uncle who had been playing his whole life to teach me, and he did. As time went on, sure enough, I had learned to play the guitar.
Now my desire to play the guitar and sing is deeper than ever. I began songwriting a little after learning the guitar. I started out writing country songs. Then as time progressed, my cousin, his friend and I formed a bluegrass/gospel band called "The Kentucky Mountain Trio" as seen in the “Know Your Zone” music video on my website media page. Singing and writing songs in a band is certainly a challenge, but it’s been a great learning experience. I must say I have really learned a lot! Now I write music of all types. Songwriting has become another one of my passions.
In the year of 2009 I got the chance to meet a lot of amazing people. Opening up a show for John Anderson at Renfro Valley in Kentucky, and attending the ICM awards in Nashville where I got to meet one of my musical influences, "Ricky Skaggs" were exciting experiences for me. Another group that inspires me is Dailey and Vincent. I attended their concert in December at Renfro Valley and after the show while in the lobby, I got the opportunity to share a song with Darrin Vincent. That was a milestone in my life that I will never forget.
2009 was filled with so many great opportunities and I’m really excited and hoping for the best in the new year of 2010. I have two new CDs coming out and a lot of fun and exciting events coming up this year.
In closing I want to lift up and thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, my family, my friends and everyone who listens to my music and those who have reached out to help me. I only have one thing left to say...let the journey begin!
Thank You and God Bless,
Heidi Lynn Douglas
